Tour Overview

In 1999, a group of descendants of Gąbin (pronounced “Gombin” in Polish and Yiddish) returned to our ancestral home - as documented by filmmaker, Minna Packer - to recuperate Jewish life, rededicate the Jewish cemetery, and find connections. After nearly two decades, we will return to modern Gąbin to reconnect with our roots, tour the “virtual” historic synagogue, identify Jewish sites, visit neighboring formerly Jewish communities, and support remembrance and understanding by connecting with the Polish community. Also included will be the Jewish sites of Warsaw including the Polin and Ethnographic Museums, Płock with the Museum of Mazovian Jews, Chełmno and more.

Assumes group of 40-50 people

Program cost for Poland itinerary: $1250-1500 (plus $60 Gombin Society membership for those who have not already paid for 2018). Includes:

A $500 deposit due by April 1st, upon registration, refundable up to May 1st. The balance is due by June 1st. No refunds after July 1st. Participants may register after these dates if space is available.

Individual costs – guestimated to be approximately $300-500 per person (+ airfare) Includes all other meals, individual taxis, shopping, etc. Paid directly to restaurant, vendors

Other personal trips (e.g. Krakow, Auschwitz, etc.) following the main tour are being formed by individuals & families. These are not centrally planned or paid, but please feel free to join if you are interested (details to follow).
